The grandfather of Émile, the child who disappeared in July 2023 in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, faces revelations about his past as a scout leader in a boarding school plagued by violence.
The troubled past of Émile’s grandfather, the little boy who disappeared in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence in July 2023, resurfaces. In 2019, a former resident at Rioumont, where Philippe V. was scout leader in the 1990s, recounted the ordeal experienced by the children at the boarding school: “slaps, kicks, and belting from some”the witness then explained.
“The main thing is my grandson”
Since 2013, several complaints have been filed for rape, sexual assault and violence. In 2018, when 11 people will be indicted in this case, little Émile’s grandfather will be placed under the status of assisted witness. Reached by telephone by the M6 teams, Philippe V. said he was appalled by this amalgam. “For me, the main thing is my grandson”confides the man.
