According to information from the Journal du Dimanche, Yazid Ichemrahen was arrested on Thursday November 3 in connection with a fraud case. The world pastry champion in 2013 and world pastry and frozen dessert champion in 2014 is suspected of having organized his own burglary. He will be judged according to the procedure of “plead guilty” at the beginning of next year. Last February, the young man had filed a complaint following the burglary in his apartment located in the XVIth arrondissement of Paris. According to his complaint, several jewels and luxury clothes were stolen from him, estimating the damage at around 40,000 euros. An amount that his insurer had quickly reimbursed him.
The story could have ended there but a twist when the 1st DPJ investigators decide to cast their suspicions on Yazid Ichemrahen. Always according to JDDit is the exploitation of the video surveillance of the building in which he resides which would have enabled them to reconstruct the course of the facts. “Investigators are also discovering that the Audi RS6, seen leaving the area of Yazid Ichemrahen’s building shortly after the incident, was fined a few months earlier for non-compliance with a traffic light and that its driver was n was other than the pastry chef”, indicated our colleagues.
After this “burglary”, the vehicle in question was filmed rushing into an underground car park, not far from the Champs-Élysées. And the means of payment used to pay for parking “is none other than Yazid Ichemrahen’s card, which has not been declared lost or stolen”. Faced with the facts, the suspect admitted to having staged this break-in at his home in order to be reimbursed by his insurance. A gesture motivated by “financial difficulties”.
