His dog destroys his passport less than 36 hours before his flight

The story is worthy of a movie: less than 36 hours before leaving for his vacation in Hawaii and on his 22nd birthday, Frédérik Houle had a very unpleasant surprise when he returned home on Wednesday afternoon, discovering that his dog had devoured his passport.

“I opened my bedroom door and found my case open with no passport. Looking everywhere, I found my passport under my bed with the page where there is my photo completely massacred, ”said the young woman at the microphone of Alexandre Moranville at QUB radio, Thursday.

Despite the fact that his passport had been stored neatly under his clothes in his suitcase, his baby dog managed to play the spoilsport when he found himself home alone.

Faced with this unfortunate and agonizing situation, Frédérik asked for help from his riding deputy for Salaberry-Suroît, Claude De Bellefeuille, in the hope of obtaining his passport before his imminent departure.

A problem that seemed to him almost impossible to solve, referring to the long delays and the monster traffic in the offices of Passport Canada in the last two months. The young woman also feared that officials would begin to doubt her incredible story, akin to the famous excuse of “the dog ate my homework”.

“Unexpectedly, they were super understanding with my situation and patient with me. In all, I waited 1 hour this morning at the St-Laurent complex and I have already been given an hour to come back to pick up my passport, 2:30 p.m. this afternoon. I really appreciate the help of my MP and I advise you all to ask your riding for help if you are going through a similar situation.

Fortunately, if all goes as planned, Frédérik will have his passport in hand around 2:30 p.m. Thursday.
