From 2001 to 2020, Jean-Jacques Bourdin made the heyday of the morning show on BFMTV/RMC. Indeed, Anne Nivat’s companion has long hosted Bourdin Directa show in which he used to receive a number of political figures and whom he never hesitated to shake up during his interviews.
Since his ouster from Marc-Olivier Fogiel’s channel, it’s Apolline de Malherbe who took up the torch and it seems to have found its place there. As frank as her predecessor, the journalist does not hesitate to “get into trouble” and upset her guests. Even if it means asking them questions they don’t like. And when a given answer does not satisfy her, the journalist repeats it again.
Viewers of BFMTV/RMC had proof of this this Tuesday, February 20, 2024 during the passage of Raphaël Glucksmann
at the house of Apolline de Malherbe, the head of the PS list and companion of Léa Salamé was in fact questioned about his position on the subject of Ukraine’s entry into the European Union. The politician indicated that he was “for” this entry. However, once “that it will respect the same standards as the member countries of the European Union”. “I find that there is a contradiction”the journalist then cut him off.

“There is a war on the European continent”he replied before continuing: “perhaps Europe, at the end of 2024, will find itself alone to manage this warbecause Donald Trump will be president of the United States”. Raphaël Glucksmann continued to give his arguments and raised his voice when he spoke of a possible defeat of Ukraine in the years to come.
“No need to get upset”then sharply reframed it Apolline de Malherbe when his guest regretted the fact of having lingered much longer on “Ukrainian chicken only from European subsidies”. “But isn’t that Europe? But that’s not what you’re fighting for, Raphaël Glucksmann? Why are you a candidate? For Europe?“, the journalist finally asked him to defend herself. A question to which Raphaël Glucksmann answered in the affirmative and which allowed us to return to a calm tone for the rest of the interview.
