Pharmacist by profession, Jacques Assolen has been a big fan of Eddy Mitchell for many decades. The proof, this resident of the city of Brignoles is none other than the founder and president of the Eddy Mitchell club’s to which all the fans of the singer have already joined.
A passion for Eddy Mitchell’s discography, but also for himself, which Jacques Assolen agreed to comment on when he was interviewed by our colleagues from Var Martin on June 10. He became the official documentalist-archivist of the interpreter of “Mint color in water” even told how he had managed to become close to his idol.
“In 1982, a meeting marked a turning point. ‘I’m going to call a plumber to redo my bathroom. His quote was too high for me., can we read in the columns of Var Matin. Embarrassed, the pharmacist replies that he has to buy a pure video recorder to record Eddy Mitchell’s first Number One on television.
“He then told me that Eddy Mitchell is his wife’s godfather”, later tells Jacques Assolen. A revelation which then pushed the inveterate fan of the singer to ask the plumber if he could send a letter to the artist… A first contact which bore fruit.

“We raised more than 100,000 euros”
Since then, Jacques Assolen and Eddy Mitchell rub shoulders regularly. “He asks me to celebrate photos, magazines for his shows. Michel Drucker and Patrick Sabatier called me”he revealed before specifying that the artist also received him before and after his concerts.
