Hillary Clinton to launch new collection of essays

Hillary Clinton’s next book is a collection of essays, tackling topics from marriage to politics to faith, which her editor calls her most personal yet.

The Simon and Schuster publishing house announced Tuesday that Something Lost, Something Gained: Reflections on Life, Love and Liberty (Something Lost, Something Gained: Thoughts on Life, Love, and Freedom) of Mme Clinton will be released on September 17.

Topics she will discuss include her marriage to former President Bill Clinton, her Methodist faith, her adjustment to private life after her failed presidential election, her friendships with other first ladies, and her views on climate change, democracy and Vladimir Putin.

“The book reads as if you were sitting down with your smartest, funniest and most passionate friend over a long meal,” said the publisher of Mme Clinton, Priscilla Painton, in a statement.

“This is the Hillary that Americans know and love: frank, engaged, full of humor, self-deprecating – and always learning. »

Hillary Clinton, former first lady, U.S. senator and secretary, as well as presidential candidate, will promote her book on a cross-country tour. Something Lost, Something Gained comes out two months before Bill Clinton’s memoir his post-presidential life, Citizen (Citizen).

Financial terms were not disclosed. Mme Clinton was represented by Robert Barnett, a Washington lawyer whose clients included former President George W. Bush and former President Barack Obama.

Previous books by Mme Clinton include sales successes such as My story And It happened like this.
