A 59-year-old man was found dead after falling 150 meters in the Vosges. He left to walk alone, Friday, October 7. Not seeing him return in the early evening, his family gave the alert.

The gendarmes of the high mountain platoons (PGHM) then began the search on Friday. A dozen soldiers, a helicopter and the canine brigade were mobilized.

It was finally the next day, Saturday October 8 around noon, that the man’s body was found, at the foot of the Spitzkoepfe ridge. The man reportedly fell 150 meters according to the emergency services. He was dead when they arrived.
