A woman lost her life Saturday morning following a face-to-face encounter on Highway 50, in Lachute, in the Laurentians.
According to initial information from the Sûreté du Québec, the collision occurred shortly before 5 a.m., when a vehicle traveling westbound found itself in the opposite direction.
On site, first responders came to the aid of a seriously injured 51-year-old woman. She died shortly after the accident from her injuries.
A 35-year-old man was arrested for impaired driving.
The scene was protected to allow reconstructionists to determine the circumstances of the collision.
