A pile-up involving fifteen vehicles forced the closure of part of Highway 50 in the Gatineau sector.
It was around 10:15 a.m. that a multiple collision occurred at kilometer 170 of Highway 50 westbound. Firefighters, police, paramedics and tugs were on the scene to assist the passengers of the 15 vehicles involved in the accident.
“At first glance, there seem to be only minor injuries,” said Sûreté du Québec (SQ) spokesperson Hélène Saint-Pierre.
The westbound highway was completely closed to traffic from kilometer 174, Ms. Saint-Pierre said. Motorists are invited to make a detour to re-enter the highway further.
