A sixty-year-old driver died Saturday morning following a head-on collision with a truck on Highway 50, near Brownsburg-Chatham, in the Laurentians.
According to the Sûreté du Québec, the motorist deviated from his lane for a reason that is still unknown before coming into contact with the weight coming in the opposite direction.
The accident occurred around 1:30 a.m.
The driver of the truck was not injured during the collision while the motorist was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
At 9 a.m., Highway 50 was still closed near the accident site. Reconstructionists and investigators are on site to try to understand the circumstances leading to this fatal accident.
