(Mirabel) A worker on a construction site on Autoroute 15 south, in Mirabel, was hit by a driver on Friday evening. He suffered serious injuries, but there is no fear for his life.
The event occurred around 10 p.m. Friday, according to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ). The driver “would have tried to make an evasive maneuver and would have found himself in a lane which was closed to traffic [en raison] works,” the police said in a press release. The worker was there, and was then struck by the vehicle.
The victim was transported to the hospital, but the two occupants of the car were not injured. The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing injury, and was released pending further investigation.
Two reconstructionists and an investigator went to the scene to shed light on the circumstances of this event. A section of Highway 15 was closed for part of the night so that the police could begin the investigation into this event.
