“It will be a quantum leap from our current premises,” said Clovis Gouaillier, professor at the School of Media quoted in the bulletin. UQAM updates available online.

Created in the former Marie-Gérin-Lajoie room of the Judith-Jasmin pavilion, this new cinema center will include a filming studio with dressing rooms, a projection room with around one hundred seats, a recording studio with control room, a room sound effects. In all, six large premises and a circulation corridor will be built.

“This flagship project of the Faculty of Communication and UQAM will allow the cinema program to continue to be competitive and meet the needs of the industry in Quebec and elsewhere,” says the Dean of the Faculty of Communication Gaby Hsab in the article UQAM News.

After checking with UQAM, we were told that the institution received a $ 9 million grant from the Quebec Ministry of Higher Education for this project included in the infrastructure renewal program.
