Throughout Europe, high heat and drought are wreaking havoc. In Spain, the resumption of fires worries. In the north and center of the country, very impressive fires were caused by temperatures averaging 40° C and changing winds. Hundreds of residents were evacuated. “We’re helpless, we can’t do anything“, says a man, very moved. A firefighter and a shepherd died in these fires.

In Italy, in Venice, local authorities encourage tourists to use gourds to drink, and not plastic bottles. To encourage this practice, the municipality wants to develop its network of drinking water fountains. In the United Kingdom, temperatures have reached historic levels, exceeding 40° C. Consequences: crowded beaches like in Brighton, and swimmers in Hyde Park, London. 30 kilometers from the capital, a fire broke out, destroying several homes.
