Lebanese Hezbollah confirmed on Wednesday, July 31, that its military leader Fouad Chokr was in the building targeted by an Israeli strike near Beirut. However, it said it did not know his fate so far: “Civil defense teams are working (…) to clear the rubble, (…) but we are still waiting for the results of this operation regarding the fate of the great commander and other citizens” who were in the building, Hezbollah wrote in a statement.
