(Jerusalem) Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to leave the hospital on Tuesday, his office announced on Monday, the day after he was hospitalized to undergo surgery for a hernia.
Mr. Netanyahu entered the hospital late Sunday to undergo this highly monitored procedure, while the war against the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas in the Gaza Strip has been going on for almost six months.
The prime minister “feels very well and continues to carry out daily activities, including consultations and conversations, from the hospital,” his office said in a statement, adding that he was scheduled for release on Tuesday afternoon.
