In Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhone)the Calanques are a very popular place for tourists in summer. From now on, to limit the number of vacationers, some of them will only be accessible with a reservation.

A blue sea and prestigious cliffs. The Calanques experience a large influx of visitors during the summer season. The Calanque of Suggestion (Bouches-du-Rhone) is now part of the premises to which tourists will only be able to access by reservation. 400 people will be able to attend on Sunday June 26 instead of 2,500 on busy days. “It is not necessarilyt a bad thing given the influx of tourists that there have been in recent years”, nods a visitor. “Having to book in advance is binding”criticizes a lover of the place.

The objective for the authorities is not to charge for access to the place, but rather to restrict access in order to preserve the creeks. To be able to book, you will have to go to the website or the application of the Parc des Calanques. Accessible to the public since Thursday, June 23, the site has been heavily visited since its opening. “400 reservations in just half a day”says Aurélie Troubol, the co-founder of the booking platform.
