The boss of the new agency responsible for running the health network will pocket $652,050 for his first two years at the head of Santé Québec.
The details of the remuneration of this “Top Gun” that Minister Christian Dubé wishes to recruit, possibly in the private sector, were revealed in the Official Gazette, Wednesday morning.
He will receive a base remuneration of $567,000, to which will be added a 15% bonus for the first two years “for the establishment of Santé Québec”.
For comparison, the base salary of Hydro-Québec CEO Michael Sabia amounts to $639,000, not including performance-related bonuses.
The future president and CEO of Santé Québec will also be entitled to a car allowance of $610 per month “in lieu of any reimbursement of travel expenses within a radius of sixteen kilometers from the usual place of work” .
An allowance of $1,573 is also provided if he has to find accommodation outside his home for work.
In the call for applications, published in parallel Wednesday morning, Quebec emphasizes that the candidate must “hold a graduate university degree in a relevant field”, in addition to having at least 15 years of management experience, including 5 years at the head of a large organization.
