Claude Saucier will leave the popular radio show C’est so good at the end of the current season. The host announced this long-considered decision on Saturday to ICI MUSIQUE listeners. “I have the satisfaction of having achieved and even surpassed my dreams,” he declared in a press release issued by Radio-Canada.
On June 22, Claude Saucier will sign his last show after thirteen seasons at the helm of this slot devoted in particular to the greats of jazz and swing from the 30s, 40s and 50s. This three-hour event, which accompanies so well the The aperitif and the preparation of the Saturday evening meal, has become in recent years the most listened to program on ICI MUSIQUE.
Thanks to Claude Saucier, a generation has reconnected with Duke Ellington, Patsy Cline, Louis Armstrong, Doris Day and Nat King Cole. As for the youngest, they discovered the importance of these pioneers who provided roots to various forms of popular music.
The success of this show extended to the production of three records which sold 100,000 copies and the creation of the show It feels so good… dancing presented on tour with a big band orchestra.

Claude Saucier made his radio debut in 1970, when he was only 21, in Sept-Îles on CKCN. We then find him in Saint-Jérôme (CKJL), from 1971 to 1975, then in Montreal (CKAC) as a sports journalist. A few months later, CKAC entrusted him with the show The big expresson the new Télémédia network, where he will host the night show in a very personal way.
In 1980, he made the jump to television, becoming the lead of the show Teleservice presented on Radio-Québec. Then, in 1989, he embarked on the adventure of Hi hello at Télé́-Métropole where it tripled the audience ratings.
In 1994, he entered Radio-Canada radio at CJBC (Toronto) where he hosted the morning show for three years. In 1997, he returned to Montreal on Radio-Canada television to host the morning show Hello home. In September of the same year, he took charge of the daily The real lifewhich was followed in 2000 by It’s simple as hello.
In 2002, he returned to his first love, radio. He moved to Radio-Canada’s Chaîne culturelle where he hosted the late afternoon show, The air of going. Finally, since 2011, he has become the host of It is so goodICI MUSIQUE’s flagship show.
The retirement of Claude Saucier from public radio joins those of other veterans such as Joël LeBigot, Michel Desautels and Michel Lacombe.
