HERE Music | Retirement for Claude Saucier

Claude Saucier will leave the popular radio show C’est so good at the end of the current season. The host announced this long-considered decision on Saturday to ICI MUSIQUE listeners. “I have the satisfaction of having achieved and even surpassed my dreams,” he declared in a press release issued by Radio-Canada.

On June 22, Claude Saucier will sign his last show after thirteen seasons at the helm of this slot devoted in particular to the greats of jazz and swing from the 30s, 40s and 50s. This three-hour event, which accompanies so well the The aperitif and the preparation of the Saturday evening meal, has become in recent years the most listened to program on ICI MUSIQUE.

Thanks to Claude Saucier, a generation has reconnected with Duke Ellington, Patsy Cline, Louis Armstrong, Doris Day and Nat King Cole. As for the youngest, they discovered the importance of these pioneers who provided roots to various forms of popular music.

The success of this show extended to the production of three records which sold 100,000 copies and the creation of the show It feels so good… dancing presented on tour with a big band orchestra.

“The departure of Claude Saucier will put an end to a formidable career during which this exceptional presenter stood out for his versatility and his talent as a communicator, but above all for his warm personality which inevitably touches people’s hearts” , said Caroline Jamet, Director General, Audio and Radio, of Radio-Canada.
