here is the number of kilos you really have to lose per month (not to regain them)

On social networks, namely TikTok, Instagram and YouTube, it is not uncommon to discover photos and videos of dazzling weight loss…. even more so as summer approaches. “How I lost 10 kg in three weeks” or “My secret to losing 15 kg in two months”, catchy messages that make you want to discover these famous routines and tips in order to refine yourself just in time for the beautiful days.

But are these rapid and radical weight losses without health consequences? To best answer this question, we interviewed Lucie Jarsalé, a state-certified sports coach and above all a super-coach within the Neoness clubs, and asked her how many kilos to lose each month to sustainable and healthy weight loss.

“Extreme and rapid transformations are not sustainable over time”
She confirms one thing to us: when we lose weight so quickly, we very often tend to take it back just as quickly. “Extreme and rapid transformations are not sustainable over time, simply because we often restrict ourselves in terms of food (we are hungry!) and we push our body to the extreme during sports sessions. simply impossible to hold on the length” Lucia says. “A weight loss of 4 to 5 kg per month seems to me to be a good balance. It will also depend on your body because we are not all equal in the face of effort”.

Conversely, it sometimes happens that we go on a diet or that we begin a food rebalancing, all coupled with sport… and that the weight stagnates on the scale. the expert gives us her advice in the face of this sometimes frustrating situation: “The results will depend on your diligence and the frequency and intensity of your training. Maybe your weight has not changed but your physical appearance is starting to change, that you are now a little more toned… Also, A single short month is still a very short period of time to observe real changes. Be patient and diligent. Don’t give up on your efforts, they will pay off!”.

In the event of a lack of results, do not hesitate to modify the content of your sports routine which may be unsuitable: “If you see no visual or scale changes, you can switch methods. If you are too comfortable in your sessions, seek to increase the intensity, modify certain factors such as duration, loads, range of motion. My advice: do 3 sports sessions a week, alternating muscle building and cardio with a varied and healthy diet! Do not hesitate to be accompanied by a sports coach, he will be able to guide you”.
