Located on the edge of the popular Lac Tremblant, 580, chemin Desmarais de Mont-Tremblant has been the property of an uneventful couple since 1989. After years on the market, Philippe Dandurand, king of wine imports in Quebec (Dandurand, Univins & Spiritueux and Galleon), managed to sell his estate on Lake Memphremagog. The huge property includes a 20-room castle, including five bedrooms, seven bathrooms and a garage that can hold 15 cars. The property also includes direct lake access and three other detached homes for guests. Listed for sale for $16.5 million in 2020, the estate was ultimately sold to another CEO of a large Quebec company for just under $11.9 million. In 2015, Mr. Dandurand purchased this place from Jean Bédard, CEO of TransForce, for $13.2 million.
In October, a holding company belonging to businessman Andrew Lutfy (Groupe Dynamite, Garage, Carbonleo, etc.) sold a condominium located at 16e floor of 1430 rue de la Montagne in Montreal. Better known as the Four Seasons Residences, this prestigious address built on the remains of the former Hôtel de la Montagne rivals that of the Ritz-Carlton, a few steps away. The youngest son of the family associated with the former Télémédia press group, François de Gaspé Beaubien, sold his large property at Domaine Sugar Hill in Lac-Brome for $8.5 million in May.
