(SEN) – Completely unknown to the literary world before November 2023, Éric Chacour became the writer of the hour by publishing his first novel which quickly won awards in Quebec and France. Beyond the sought-after vocabulary and the singular narrative form, the beauty of this book lies in the depth and complexity of human relationships that it recounts in a sublime way.

(MD) – She has been working hard for several years, but for many, including the author of these lines, 2023 was the year when Alice Moreault finally emerged from anonymity. Outstanding as a loving and protective sister in the film Solothe young actress also shone alongside Julie Le Breton in the second season of the excellent detective series A criminal case.

(MP) – What a nice surprise this There’s nothing I’m not, Arielle Soucy’s particularly well-turned first folk album. Is it the fine pen of the artist that catches the ear so much? Or the sweet arrangements, the perfect foundation for his universe, both simple and grandiose? One certainty: this talent promises.

(AC) – Even if we discovered it at the end of 2022 with the show Live from the Universe, 2023 was the year of its meteoric rise. A true revelation of country music in Quebec – although he is not yet very popular at home – this gentle giant from Texas has the voice and the charisma to reach new heights in 2024.

(BL) – Fans of vibrant pop music, remember this name: John Duff. Beyond the seductive stage persona, the singer reveals himself to be a fully assumed pop star, but above all capable of delivering irresistible – and oh so tenacious – earworms. Examples? We couldn’t get it out of our heads House on Fire And Somebody’s Daughter since our first listen. Far be it from us to complain about it.

Zaho de Sagazan

(CB) – She has the gift of finding the right words, simple and profound, an unparalleled sense of melody and a ton of chatter: by mixing the coldness of electronic music with the poetry of French song, Zaho de Sagazan captivates and astonishes. The symphony of lightning, first album from this 23-year-old Frenchwoman, heralds a bright future. Go listen Sadness, Enough, Tell me you love me to convince you of this.
