On the occasion of the screening of his documentary Hello at the Cannes Film Festival, Diam’s gave an interview to Raw. In this one, the former rapper had the opportunity to return to the recovery of her title Marine by Amel Bent, Camélia Jordana and Vitaa in their joint project released last year.
Without filters, the one who often wanted to dieresponded : “In fact, I always tell myself that for once, it doesn’t belong to me anymore. That is to say that really, people have appropriated these songs. I haven’t done anything to make them still there”.
Then, Diam’s justified itself further by adding: “You’ll never see me talking about it on my social media or trying to promote it. That’s how it is. That’s what I was telling you is the people who transported it back in time, I don’t know how you can say and I am actually a spectator of something that no longer belongs to me (…) It no longer belongs to me, it could have been forgotten. I am like you, I am a spectator”.
Earlier in this interview, Diam’s returned to her break with music. “And I actually think that what made me sad, because there is anger, like the fact that something intimate in my life was stolen from me, but that’s manageable (… ) But there is above all… me, it was really in relation to the people who loved me… I knew that they (Editor’s note: those who revealed the photo of Diam’s veiled when leaving a mosque) were going to break the love that there was between me and the public… That’s really what hurt me” she said, very moved.
When this album was released, Amel Bent explained to our colleagues from BFM-TV why she thought it was important to bring this song up to date. “It’s the song that made me want to vote. Sometimes a song can change something in you. Deeply. It did for us. We thought we were passing the torch” revealed the coach of The Voice.
