After the father of a family from Berthierville was filmed grabbing a student by the collar who allegedly intimidated his two sons, TVA Nouvelles reported on Thursday a video that has been circulating on social networks for several days. We see a mother from Saint-Georges, in Beauce, baseball bat in hand, who wanted to protect her son whom students allegedly threatened to stab and beat.
The event occurred about two weeks ago in the courtyard of the Saint-Georges high school.
“Cell Ostie, if you don’t know, it’s a weapon, it’s a knife, if he had stolen it, would you have been the one to do 25 years in prison? No, you don’t care!”, screams the mother, speaking to a student in the schoolyard.
According to several sources close to the event consulted by TVA Nouvelles, the mother’s 14-year-old son, a secondary 2 student, received serious threats endangering his life.
Threatened to be beaten
According to our information, a student threatened to stab him as soon as he got off the school bus. Having been made aware of the threat, the mother contacted the Sûreté du Québec police officers.
Fréderic Deshaies, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec, indicates that a 15-year-old teenager, whose knife was seized, was arrested for having made threats in connection with the event. He was released for further proceedings.
The arrested student would no longer attend the Saint-Georges high school.

In response, friends of the arrested student allegedly threatened to beat the 14-year-old during the day.
The mother who came to pick up her boy from school for a meeting scheduled for lunchtime was informed of the new threats, hence her strong reaction.
The baseball bats were already in his van because his children play the sport. In the video, she raises her voice, but at no time uses the weapon against the student in front of her.
The mother received three tickets for possession of the baseball bat for displaying an object used to threaten or injure.
The Beauce-Etchemin School Service Center reacted in a press release.
“The school service center has seen the video you gave us. We can assure you that the school service center and the Saint-Georges high school have implemented the action plan against the planned violence in order to support all the students affected by this story,” we can read.
“The parents of the students concerned were contacted and/or met and the school management took charge of the situation. We can also inform you that the school service center has reported certain elements to the Sûreté du Québec. There was consultation with families, the school and partners of the Sûreté du Québec,” the press release further specifies.
