The small town of Clessé, in Saône-et-Loire, wonders about the reasons which led to the assassination of a 14-year-old girl. Her boyfriend of the same age was indicted for murder and imprisoned on Friday June 10.
Friday, June 10, bouquets of flowers were placed in memory of Emma, 14, found stabbed several times in a park just behind the school of Clessé, in Saône-et-Loire. In the aftermath of this tragedy, the inhabitants are speechless. “It’s incredible, incomprehensible and I pity the family”, says one of them. What do we know about the alleged assassin, who was the teenager’s boyfriend? Educated in the same college, he too is 14 years old and would be from another wine-growing village, five kilometers from Clessé.
While in police custody on Friday June 10, a psychiatric expert examined him and concluded that he was “significant impairment of discernment, without abolition”. In other words, he is considered responsible for his actions and can therefore be judged criminally. The prosecutor also confirmed that the young man was training in the handling of the knife and had premeditated his act. He was indicted for murder and was imprisoned. He faces 20 years in prison.
