Henriette Steinberg, general secretary of Secours populaire, denounces a “disconnect with the government”

A new poverty plan was presented by the government on Monday September 18. Invited by the government to discuss the contours around poverty, Henriette Steinberg admits “that she didn’t expect much from the meeting”.

“Leaving the meetingI have not been frankly enlightened by information which would allow us to think that the question of poverty, which for Relief ppopular is progressing. I didn’t leave feeling like we lived on the same planet. It’s always a little disconcerting (…), I’m not convinced that they have moved forward”, specifies the general secretary of Secours populaire.

“The fact that there is a growing number of men, women, young people, children, elderly people, who meet Secours populaire and their colleagues also to say that they can no longer do it , in particular to feed themselves and take care of their expenses, this is a daily reality for Secours populaire.
