Sports fans were present every evening on France 3 at his daily meeting. In all sports, Henri Sannier gave an update on the sports day. Whether in swimming, cycling, football, or athletics. However, the one who also moderated the newspaper of France 2 ended this appointment in 2017, when he retired to enjoy life. But his early retirement did not go as he would have hoped. Notably because of a mountain bike accident that cost him dearly…
Following this, Henri Sannier develops an autoimmune disease which will force him to move around in a wheelchair as he recalled on the set of the Telethon this Friday, December 2. “I learn it at more than 70 years old, I have never been sick in my life, and I caught an autoimmune disease”he remembers before adding: “And there bing, we find ourselves lying down, we no longer walk for a year and a half to two years. And there, I resume. I managed to resume first because in the head you have to be strong and then I have been helped by many people”.
On my feet again
Henri Sannier wanted to give all the details of his fight against the disease. Therefore, he continues: “I was trying to understand what I had. I was told, this disease, the antibodies gang up on you, they attack you. So I come to Paris every month to have a plasmapheresis (a plasma sample sanguine, editor’s note) with extraordinary and competent people, and I thank them from the bottom of my heart”.
And there is reason, because today, Henri Sannier “walk again.” Better still, he could very quickly get back to his first passion: “I’m waiting for one thing, and that’s to ride my bike again!” And that’s all the harm we wish him.
