On the occasion of the Oakley x OneSight x IBKM event, Brut spoke with Kylian Mbappé about the importance of getting involved in an associative manner for him.
The Oakley x OneSight x IBKM event aims to equip 1,000 children from modest backgrounds with corrective glasses and sunglasses. Founder of the IBKM association, football player Kylian Mbappé talks about the importance of commitment. “Getting involved is something that matters to me. It comes from my education and also the fact that I arrived here because I was helped. I think it’s the normal course of life: when someone has helped you, you arrive in a position where you have succeeded and it’s your turn to help” says Kylian Mbappé.
“As long as I’m alive and I have the strength to do it, well I will”
It was in 2020 that the sportsman created IBKM, his “greatest pride”. The association aims to introduce young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to sporting and cultural activities. “It’s something that I have no problem promoting because it’s something that really makes me happy. Making children smile is something that is priceless” explains Kylian Mbappé. Although he has a busy schedule, the PSG star wants to be present as much as possible at the association’s events: “For me, it’s important to be there. I really want these children to have the same chance that I had in my field.”
