“What Karine told me really touched me. It was not won that I could resume my activities… My eye problems are important, but it is especially my treatment that is heavy. When I started, my vision was catastrophic. We managed to slow things down“, confided Hélène Ségara at first. If in the media, it is said that she suffers from optic neuritis (neurological damage caused by inflammation of the optic nerve) due to an autoimmune disease, the interpreter ofThere are too many people who love you wanted to rectify things: “I see a lot of articles going around saying, ‘Helen suffers from this and that.’ But I have been in the hands of the greatest teachers for nine years and there is still no real diagnosis.“
The heavy treatment with cortisone of Hélène Ségara unfortunately had consequences on her physique. A change she had to accept. But it is sometimes difficult for her to put things into perspective when she discovers certain derogatory comments. On several occasions, she was the victim of grossophobia during her television appearances. A factor she considered before resuming filming for the new season ofAmazing talent. “I thought that the public would see that I have a different face because of my treatment. It’s a challenge for me to get past that. I just want to do my job. Feeling sorry for people, it’s not in my temperament at all“, she clarified.
But his happiness comes first so, very fortunately, Hélène Ségara is once again alongside Marianne James, Eric Antoine and Sugar Sammy this year. “I want to be on my show because I have fun there and because I experience wonderful emotions there. If the price to pay is the comments I have already heard, too bad!“, she concluded.
