For three seasons now, Lily Collins and her acolytes have been hugely successful on netflix with Emily in Paris. And who would have bet that this series telling the story of an American from Chicago, who agrees to move to France, and more precisely to Paris, to seize a professional opportunity, would be so popular with the public? Especially since nothing was won from the first episodes of season 1. Indeed, viewers criticized the producers and actors for doing too much with the French accent and above all, for stuffing the episodes with clichés all the more shocking to each other.
But clichés or not, or too pronounced a “franglais” accent or not, the result is indeed there. Emily in Paris is followed by millions of viewers on netflix and they keep asking for more. Moreover, they will be delighted because the streaming giant would have already recorded a season 4. It remains to be seen whether the story will take place again in Paris or if Lily Collins and the other actors will be relocated to a another French city as was the case for season 2. In the meantime, fans who would never have set foot in Paris can take advantage of the show to discover the beauty of the City of Lights.
A “Top Chef” candidate hidden in season 3 of “Emily in Paris”
To see sublime monuments, or even shops, each cuter and more attractive than the next. So much so that some fans have been looking for the restaurant “L’esprit de Gigi”, run by chef Gabriel in Emily in Paris. We might as well warn those who have not yet embarked on this quest: the establishment does not exist. However, the dishes concocted by the character and offered on the menu are indeed real. Moreover, a former candidate of Top chef is behind the menu, and not just any menu.
Thibaut Spiwack, candidate for season 13 of Top chef and protege of Hélène Darroze. With our colleagues from Parisian, the chef has indeed confided that he was at the origin of the menu proposed in Emily in Paris and that Lucas Bravo, the actor who plays the role of Gabriel, had even had the right to training from him. The actor would have put “a point of honor to give credibility to the kitchen and to highlight a “more modern and ethical” kitchen in season 3″underlined our colleagues from RTL.
