held in check by BK Häcken, Paris FC misses the opportunity to position themselves for qualification

While a victory would have allowed them to move ahead of the Swedes in the standings, Sandrine Soubeyrand’s players failed to find the fault (0-0) on Wednesday.

A great missed opportunity for Paris FC. Traveling to the Swedish BK Häcken field, the Parisiennes did not manage to achieve better than a draw (0-0), Wednesday January 24, during the 5th and penultimate day of the group stage of the Champions League. A result far from ideal against a direct competitor, but which does not yet condemn the Ile-de-France women in the race for the quarter-finals.

Beaten in the first leg by the Gothenburg club (2-1), Sandrine Soubeyrand’s players can this time thank their goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, very prominent. In addition to a penalty from Rosa Kafaji stopped (25th) – a form of justice while the initial handball by Teninsoun Sissoko seemed to follow a goal kick not whistled in favor of the Ile-de-France -, the Nigerian kept hers afloat in all end of the match (90th + 3), while a shot from Jusu Bah hit the post before the break (34th).

If Clara Mateo and Gaëtane Thiney had clear opportunities to open the scoring (57th, 61st), the PFC players must be content with a parity score. Häcken thus remains one point ahead of them (8 points) in second place in the group. If Chelsea (8 points) wins against Real Madrid, already eliminated, in the other game scheduled for the evening (9 p.m.), the Parisian club will no longer have its destiny in its hands even with a victory against the Londoners on Tuesday , during the final day.
