The first questions to the government were held on Tuesday, July 12, at the National Assembly. Opposition MPs and ministers clashed frankly.
The exercise of the National Assembly is always dangerous and noisy for the government in place. Without an absolute majority, it is even more so. Yaël Braun-Pivet, President of the National Assembly, had her work cut out for her on Tuesday, July 12, for the first questions to the government. The session was opened at 3 p.m. by Marine Le Pen, president of the RN group in the National Assembly, on the subject of immigration. She asked Élisabeth Borne, the Prime Minister, to “do[re] fulfill the obligations to leave the territory“.
“I confirm it to you, I will not seek the votes of the National Rally“, retorted the Prime Minister. The first QAGs also signed the baptism of fire for the new faces of the Assembly, such as the ecologist Sandrine Rousseau, or the former chambermaid Rachel Keke, now a deputy (LFI / Nupes) of the Val-de-Marne.”It’s not with bonuses and checks that we pay rent every month“, she notably chanted.
