Heat wave: which sunscreen to choose?

It will still be hot in Corsica, still placed on heatwave orange vigilance, Monday July 24th. Spikes at 40°C are possible in the south of the island. Journalist and doctor Damien Mascret, present on the 12/13 set, gives his opinion on SPF 50 sunscreen. “It is the most recommended for adults and children because it is the one that protects the longest. The sun protection index is the extension of the natural photo-protection time. In other words, with protection 50, instead of having a sunburn in one minute, you will have it in 50 minutes”he explains.

Other protections to remember

Nevertheless, “dark skin can possibly settle for protection 30”, admits the doctor. And to conclude: “Prefer the cream which allows you to apply a thicker layer. And don’t forget the t-shirt, the wide-brimmed hat and the sunglasses.”
