Heart visiting Montreal and Quebec in August

(New York) Heart, the legendary group that fuses Nancy Wilson’s guitar with the powerful voice of her sister Ann, is reborn this spring for a world tour called Royal Flush that Nancy Wilson describes as “full-fledged rock.”

Members of the rock and roll pantheon who created classic tracks like Magic Man, Crazy on You And Alone will play all their hits, some songs from their solo albums – like Miss One and Only by Ann Wilson and Love Mistake by Nancy Wilson – and a new song called Roll the Dice.

“I like to say we have a great problem because you have to choose between a bunch of really cool songs that people already like,” says Nancy Wilson.

As Barracudaa sonic brilliance on the band’s second album, Little Queen, which stands as one of the band’s most memorable songs.

“You can’t hesitate with Barracuda. It’s like that. That’s great. You get on the horse and leave. It’s like that for everyone, including the band. »

The tour kicks off Saturday at Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina.

Heart will stop in several Canadian cities, including Montreal, Toronto, Quebec, Vancouver, Calgary and Ottawa. Nancy Wilson also has good memories of Canada, such as the wild public in Vancouver and the winter crossings in a van.

International dates include stops in London, Oslo, Berlin, Stockholm, and Glasgow.

Cheap Trick will open for several shows. Def Leppard and Journey will join Heart for stops in Cleveland, Toronto and Boston.

Ann and Nancy Wilson will be accompanied by Ryan Wariner (lead and rhythm guitar), Ryan Waters (guitars), Paul Moak (guitars, keyboards and vocals), Tony Lucido (bass and vocals) and Sean T. Lane (drums).

The tour is the first in several years for Heart, which was rocked in 2016 when Ann Wilson’s husband was arrested for molesting Nancy’s 16-year-old twins. The latter says that all this is in the past.

“We can handle any kind of turbulence, me and Ann, and we’ve always been good together,” she says.

The Wilson sisters broke rock’s glass ceiling in the 1970s. Nancy Wilson says the influential groups were all male: Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones and the Moody Blues.

Today, she loves discovering the new generation of rockers. “You have Boygenius, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo and so many amazing women […] I like to say we are the OG – the original gangsters – of women and rock. »

Heart has sold millions of albums and influenced hundreds of thousands of fans, but Nancy Wilson still wants to shine.
