A recent study conducted for the National Medicines Safety Agency (ANSM) shows that three out of ten French people adapt the dose or duration of the medicines prescribed to them by themselves. It also shows that nearly one in two French people give medication to a loved one because they have the same symptoms, and that 34% consider it low risk to take expired medication.

A prevention campaign launched by the ANSM

So, to fight against these situations, the ANSM is launching a new campaign. Through a video but also audio spots and a leaflet, the agency wishes to inform and raise awareness among French people about the proper use of medicines. “Medicines are not ordinary products, do not take them lightly”we hear in the ANSM video. These tools are intended for the general public, but also for professionals health.
