Health pass compulsory to go skiing from this Saturday in the French Riviera ski resorts. Given the rise in the numbers of the epidemic, the government requires it in all the stations of the country. Random checks will therefore be carried out in queues or even on the slopes at any time of the day. You will therefore need to have the QR code under your elbow … And the mask on your mouth (almost) everywhere.
Three possibilities for the mask
You can opt for a more practical neck strap, already used regularly by many skiers, but be careful not just any one. Three choices are available to you:
- Surgical mask
- A category 1 fabric mask (AFNOR SPEC S76-001 certification)
- A filtering and approved neck strap which can be put on the nose and removed in seconds.
When to wear this mask?
Wearing a mask is compulsory from the age of 11 with several peculiarities.
- In all queues: shops, restaurants, ski pass purchases and all ski lifts.
- In these ski lifts, it must be kept throughout the climb whether it is on a cable car, in a gondola, or a chairlift, even if the chairlift is open to the outside and therefore to the open air.
- The only exception for ski lifts: ski lifts and conveyor belts. There you have to wear the mask in the queue but once on the carpet or the pole of the ski lift, you can remove it because you are alone.
Finally, the mask is no longer necessary when you ski down the slopes.
