Health Quebec inadvertently shares a link to Pornhub on Twitter

The Quebec Ministry of Health made the mistake this morning of sharing a hyperlink on its Twitter account to a well-known pornographic site, rather than to the government site as usual. The error, quickly corrected, did not fail to go around the web.

In its daily tweet regarding the evolution of the pandemic in Quebec, the Health Quebec team shared a link directing Internet users to the Pornhub site. The message including this erroneous link remained online for about forty minutes online before being deleted.

This seemingly banal tweet is at the center of the controversy. Screenshot

A ministry spokesman, Robert Maranda, pleads “a situation beyond our control” to explain the incident. “Checks are currently underway to find out exactly what happened,” he said by email.

A single letter separates the corrected link of the one that was inadvertently shared. Moreover, said erroneous link was created on March 28, according to an analysis of its history.
