A study reveals that health supplements for seniors are increasingly expensive. It now costs 250 euros per month for a 60-year-old couple for enhanced coverage.
They pay more and more for treatment. On the morning of September 26, seniors reported a hefty bill for their supplementary health insurance, one of the main items of expense for Claude, a retired bus driver. “It costs me 90 euros per month, my wife around 120, 130 (…). VShas already made a good amount“, he regrets. A former automobile technician pays 308 euros per month to benefit from the highest level of health coverage.
Prices will increase in 2024
According to a study, to benefit from enhanced health coverage today, a 60-year-old couple must spend 250 euros per month, i.e. 5% more than in 2022. For a 70-year-old couple, this amounts to 300 euros per month. The contribution level varies depending on the place of residence. The price of supplements is expected to increase further next year.
