Health Canada announced on Tuesday the seizure of 34 unauthorized sexual enhancement products sold in stores in Ontario and British Columbia.
The products could pose serious health risks, the federal agency said.
The seizures were made in the cities of Hamilton, Langford and Coquitlam.
Some products contained sildenafil and tadalafil, prescription drugs used to treat erectile dysfunction.
According to Health Canada, these substances should be avoided in people taking nitrate-based medications, such as nitroglycerin, because they can cause death.
Other products contained yohimbine, a product that can have serious consequences for people with high blood pressure.
Health Canada invites citizens to report unlicensed products. If you have consumed an unapproved product, consult a health specialist.
