Health authorities report 511 new cases of COVID-19 in Quebec

Quebec reports 511 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday and one death is added to the death toll of the disease.

Of the new cases, 327 are people who were unvaccinated or only received a single dose less than 14 days ago, 14 had only received a single dose at least two weeks ago and 170 had received a second dose at least seven days ago.

The province’s death toll now stands at 424,802 people infected since the start of the pandemic, along with 11,491 deaths.

250 hospitalizations were reported on Friday, a decrease of four compared to the day before. Of these patients, 68 are in intensive care, an increase of one.

Twenty people entered the hospital on Thursday. Of these, 12 were unvaccinated or had only received a single dose less than 14 days ago and eight had received a second dose at least seven days ago.

Of six people who entered intensive care, five were unvaccinated or had only received a single dose less than 14 days ago and one had received a second dose at least seven days ago.

A total of 29,452 samples were taken on October 27.

Regarding vaccination, 12,641 doses were administered in the last 24 hours in Quebec, for a total of 13,223,559. Outside the province, 216,656 doses were received by Quebecers.

According to the Institut de santé publique du Québec, 79.3% of the population has received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Among those 12 years and older, 90.6% have received at least one dose and 87.8% are adequately vaccinated.
