On October 26, 2017 in the morning, Christophe Fressart took to the road and traveled the 400 kilometers which separates him from his village of Roupeldange near the German border in Moselle to Villemandeur, aboard his cart without a license. He arrives in the Loiret late in the evening. The next day, he shoots several times Eric Saintot, who at aperitif time surprises him, hidden outside under the stairs of his home. A fatal bullet passed through the victim’s sternum and right lung. While fleeing, he also seriously injured Eric Saintot’s brother, Cyrille Saintot, who tried to catch up with him with two shots. A few hours later, Christophe Fressart was arrested by the gendarmes, in his vehicle which was parked not far from the crime, a 7.65 caliber semi-automatic pistol and hundreds of cartridges inside.

Throughout the investigation, during his custody or during his appearances before the investigating judge, Christophe Fressart will recognize to have wanted “shoot” Eric Saintot and at no time “regret his gesture”. In 2012, Christophe Fressart left Villemandeur to live in a van on land belonging to his brother, near Metz. To those close to him, he indicates that one day, he will kill his childhood friend, only a serious health problem prevented him during all this time from taking action. In his computer, the investigators will discover searches for the purchase of a weapon. On the other hand, the accused denies from the start having deliberately shot the brother of the deceased, Cyrille Saintot.

After seeing his brother lying in the garden, mortally wounded, Cyrille Saintot tries to catch up with Christophe Fressart who is fleeing. In a clinch, two shots ring out. Witnesses, relatives speak of a dispute over a woman who will be called to testify in court. During his hearings, Christophe Fressart evokes this love quarrel but also alludes to a more distant betrayal between 30-year-old friends who would have climbed together on breakages.
