He transported 20 kg of cannabis resin in an ambulance between Laval and Nantes, a condemned man

Two men were sentenced on Thursday for drug trafficking between March 2019 and January 2020 by the Laval Criminal Court this Thursday. The two made transit 20 kg of resin between Laval and Nantes, including one aboard his ambulance. They both get three years in prison, two of which are suspended, a sentence arranged in the form of an electronic bracelet at home. The link between the two is not very clear but one must pay off a debt for the purchase of a scooter, found in the garage of the second. It was during a customs check in Saint Berthevin, near Laval, that the investigators were able to catch one of the two men.

The drugs passed through the ambulance with two patients inside

A professional paramedic, the 37-year-old first defendant meets, by chance, a former cellmate in a Nantes shopping center, who offers him to transport narcotics in exchange for remuneration. That’s good, the defendant needs money to pay off a debt and for the work he has undertaken in his new house. The paramedic, who already has seven convictions on his criminal recordthe last of which dates back to 2010 pronounced by the Assize Court of Mayenne for theft with weapons, accepts and takes advantage of his job to transport cannabis in his ambulance.

This January 10, 2010, he carries two patients in his truck and 20 kg of cannabis inside. Controlled by customs officers in Saint-Berthevin, the defendant was therefore arrested and placed in police custody. He acknowledges the facts and leaves for pre-trial detention. “I have the impression that you are minimizing your role, the facts are serious”insists the prosecutor, “carrying drugs to pay off a sentence with friends seems a bit simple”, she says. “It’s true that it’s serious but I’m at the end of the judicial cycle, I hope so in any case with this case”, concludes the defendant. He will therefore not go to prison and will stay at home for a year with an electronic bracelet, he will also have to pay more than 3,000 euros in damages to the ambulance company.

The connection between the two is unclear

The second defendant retrieved a 20 kg package of cannabis resin from the parking lot of the Nantes hospital to transport it. During a search of his home, the investigators found wave jammers, cocaine, packaging sachets, a little more than 68,000 euros in cash and keys. These allow you to open a garage where you can find two cars and a scooter, that of the first defendant. Coincidence? It is a coincidence, the defendants respond in substance. “What we find in your home is a bit like the panoply of the trafficker”said the President, “I was asked to keep all this”, replies the accused confused in Nantes. The link between the two would therefore be the scooter but it is quite vague.

Both will serve their sentences anyway. in the form of house arrest with an electronic bracelet and will have to pay just over 179,000 euros fine at customs.
