An autistic ex-blogger who molested several autistic children in the 2010s after coaxing their parents began collecting child pornography as soon as he was released from prison. Phylip St-Jacques even invented a twisted scenario with a fictional boy.
The 31-year-old Saint-Calixte resident admitted his guilt Thursday, at the Joliette courthouse, to charges of possession of and access to child pornography. He remains in custody pending imposition of the sentence. Due to his background, the pedophile this time risks a long prison sentence.
Phylip St-Jacques was sentenced to prison on weekends in May 2017 for consuming child pornography while on probation. Three months later, he had already re-subscribed to the internet, despite a court order. He even had a cell phone in his hands when the police arrived in 2023.
The pedophile had dozens of “very explicit” images of child pornography at his home, showing naked children in very specific contexts: in the bath, on the changing table or receiving medical care.
Phylip St-Jacques was denounced by a woman he met in a training center in Rawdon. For a few weeks, Phylip St-Jacques made him believe that he was looking after a three-year-old boy. Now, it was an invention to become friends with the woman.
The pedophile asked his friend for advice on how to treat the child’s recurring pain in his genitals. He also sent her a drawing allegedly made by the boy, showing penguins giving oral sex. When St-Jacques told her he was touching the child’s penis, the woman found the situation abnormal and reported him to the authorities.
Phylip St-Jacques made headlines around ten years ago by photographing around thirty naked children. At the time, the young autistic person ran a blog aimed at demystifying the autism spectrum. Taken into confidence, parents turned to him for help for their autistic children.
“In my blindness, I brought the wolf into the fold,” said a mother at the trial.
Phylip St-Jacques had fooled families by inventing a story of abuse and mistreatment. He said he had hygiene problems and had to learn how to wash himself by watching children in the bath. The parents agreed for educational purposes, since they believed it was part of autism. St-Jacques then photographed the children. It has affected children in some cases.
He was sentenced to a lenient sentence of 22 months in prison in 2016.
