Deafening silences. Live on franceinfo, this Wednesday, January 20, the actor Jean-Pierre Daroussin confided a few words, with emotion, on Gaspard Ulliel, the day after the disappearance of the young actor:

It’s dramatic, it’s dreadful… He had something of a cat, something very calm about him. He didn’t panic with, at the same time, an energy that could arise at any moment. A somewhat opaque character, full of tenderness. A great young man”, he breathed (from 7 mn in the video).

The 37-year-old actor, who died after a skiing accident in the resort of La Rosière, in Savoie, had filmed with Jean Pierre Daroussin in A long engagement Sunday by Jean-Pierre Jeunet, in 2004. In this film which takes place during the First World War, which received five César, including that of the best male hope for Gaspard Ulliel, Jean-Pierre Daroussin interprets the Corporal Gordes, known as “Biscotte”.

According to the first testimonies and observations made on the spot, Gaspard Ulliel was not wearing a helmet at the time of his collision with another skier in the resort of La Rosière, in Savoie, on the top of a blue run. Lhe two skiers both fell to the ground. When help arrived, Gaspard Ulliel was motionless, unconscious in the snow. The other skier was unscathed, said the prosecution.

Transported by helicopter to the Grenoble University Hospital, Gaspard Ulliel died shortly after 4 p.m. on Wednesday January 20.
