Many found it hard to believe. However, the Supreme Court of the United States has indeed chosen to go back in time by having taken the decision to revoke the right to abortion in the country. A decision that obviously aroused many reactions. The majority expressed their anger and did not hesitate to rant as evidenced by the reactions of Michelle Obama, Chloé Jouannet, or even more recently, Patrick Bruel.
The former First Lady of the United States posted a long text on her Instagram account to express her anger and sadness after hearing the news. “I am heartbroken today. I am heartbroken for the people of this country who have just lost the basic right to make informed decisions about their own bodies”she wrote at first, no doubt with deep regret, before continuing: “I am heartbroken that we may be destined to learn the painful lessons of a time when Roe was not yet the law of the land – a time when women risked losing their lives by illegal abortion”.
Simone Veil would turn over in her grave…
A text that Chloé Jouannet wished to relay. The daughter of Alexandra Lamy, by her post, made it clear that she thought no less than the companion of Barack Obama. For his part, Patrick Bruel, wanted to refer to Simone Veil. The artist was speaking directly to the former magistrate, and stateswoman, who fought for a long time for women’s rights in France and in particular the right to abortion in the country.
“If you knew…” he wrote in the caption of a snapshot of the one who gave his name to the 1975 law, which frames the decriminalization of abortion in France, accompanied by a white heart, as if to make him understand that she is better off away from our world, than witnessing such a flashback…
