The Haute-Vienne Departmental Council, in partnership with the Alliage network, which specializes in integration through economic activity, is renovating vacant housing to accommodate Ukrainian families. #TheyHaveTheSolution

Last brushstrokes before the arrival of Ukrainian families in this building in Limoges. Here, three apartments have been renovated and fully equipped to accommodate refugees, thanks in particular to the Envie network, which recovers and rehabilitates household appliances: “In total, we have provided six devices on this site, washing machines and refrigerators, and we can meet the demand if there are other projects.“, explains one of the leaders of the local branch of the association.

In a few days, therefore, Ukrainian families will settle in these accommodations made available by the department of Haute-Vienne. “There is a reception which is carried out in collective structures in Limoges, summer then, the families are distributed in accommodation like these, where they will be able to live properly, with comfort“, explains Jean-Claude Leblois, the president of the Departmental Council of Haute-Vienne who came to inspect the site before the allocation of housing.

A project that has a double objective: both humanitarian, with the reception of these families fleeing the war; and social, with the employment of people in professional reintegration through local associations. Among them, Francis, delighted to work for a good cause: “It is for these Ukrainian refugees who unfortunately take bombs on the corner of the nose, and there they will be safer at least. We are still proud to help these people.“.
