Several companies from Nogent (Haute-Marne) unite to create their own production school. Its opening is scheduled for the next school year.

These companies are the pride of Nogent, in Haute-Marne. Once capital of the knife, the city continues to work the metal but companies have diversified. On the other hand, they all face “recruitment issues”, according to Delphine Descornes-Jeanny, president of the cluster Nogentech. Local companies are therefore going to launch their own production schools which will train turn-millers in particular. It should open at the start of the next school year.

An initiative that convinced Christian Oury, General manager by Oury Guye & Son. It produces surgical equipment. “It is our breeding ground for tomorrow so it is very interesting for us, industrialists, to participate, to help build up strength and then to give these young people a future”, he emphasizes. There are around thirty production schools in France and they are all funded by local businesses. They subcontract customer requests to students. As for Nogent, around ten companies are participating in the project. The principal of the vocational high school of Chaumont was asked to supervise the students of the school. In particular, it will make it possible to offer something concrete to drop-out students.
