Damn automobile cannot lie. After his mother’s driving exploits Cathy Muller-Ehrlacher and his uncle Yvan Muller (not to mention the footballing exploits of his father Yves Ehrlacher, champion of France with racing in 1979), it is now Yann Ehrlacher that makes the family shine on the racetrack.
At 25, he won for the second time in a row the World Touring Car Cup. Thanks to a fifth and a sixth place this Sunday in the last two races of the season in Sochi, Russia, the Cyan Racing team driver was able to keep 28 points ahead in the general classification over his first pursuer, the Belgian Frédéric Vervisch.
The nephew and the uncle together win the constructors’ title
At 52 years old, his uncle Yvan Muller keeps a solid grip. He finished at the foot of the podium in the general classification, he who has already won this title four times.
The icing on the cake, the constructors’ title went to Cyan Racing Lynk & Co, the stable of Yann Ehrlacher and Yvan Muller.
