The start of a reshuffle? After the humiliating draw against Italy (13-13), the staff of the French XV made several changes in their group to face Wales in Cardiff, Sunday March 10 (4 p.m. on France 2 and France. TV). The returns from injury of Thibaud Flament and Emmanuel Meafou in the second row were expected, but a few surprises slipped into the list sent by the Blues staff.
With the knee injury to Matthieu Jalibert, starting flyhalf of the French team, Rochelais Antoine Hastoy naturally returns to the group, while waiting to know if he will have the confidence of Fabien Galthié to face the Welsh .
The Toulouse three-quarter center Pierre-Louis Barassi, author of excellent club performances in recent weeks, is called up for the first time in this 2024 Six Nations Tournament. He digitally replaces Jonathan Danty, suspended five weeks after his red card received against Italy.
Hooker Maxime Lamothe also makes his appearance in the group, like right pillar Georges-Henri Colombe who replaces Thomas Laclayat, who was injured in the ribs. Grégory Alldritt, absent against Italy, is among the 34 called up, like the young winger Louis Bielle-Biarrey. Six players will be released to their club in the coming days.
