Friday, June 3, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle came to attend the mass given in honor of Queen Elizabeth II for her platinum jubilee. They were greeted with applause, but also whistles. This is their first public appearance on British soil in over two years. Harry has not held royal office since moving to the United States and the couple have not settled down with the rest of the family. After months of tension, no image of the full family has been made.
“Harry has the right to come and see his grandmother, but she did say she didn’t like our country and the British. So I don’t see why we should be welcoming”, says a woman. The couple had not been invited to Buckingham Palace, nor in the parade, Thursday, June 2. Harry and Meghan were able to introduce their one-year-old daughter to the Queen for the first time.
