A Chicoutimi man is inundated with requests and comments on social media because he has the same name as the alleged murderer of Guylaine Potvin.

For the past two days, Marc-André Grenon, 40 years old and originally from Chicoutimi, has been mistakenly taken on social networks for the 47-year-old accused. “I had about thirty people, girls and guys, asking me as friends on Facebook that I don’t know,” said Marc-André Grenon.
“I delete that, but I find that the world has like “no life” [pour] go and disgust the world in their lives,” he confessed.
“Me, the people here teasing me with this two days, three days are fine. But there, I just had calls just for that.
Luckily, he hasn’t received any threats, but the messages are disturbing.
“Hey, what did you do there? What nonsense did you do? Who are you? What’s your problem?” Me, I have no problem, “said the Chicoutimien.
To clarify the situation, he decided to post on Facebook. “I wrote: ‘I’m 40 years old and I’m not from Granby, thank you for worrying about it, but it’s not me,'” said Marc-André Grenon.
He worries that his children are bullied at school: “What bothers me is more for my children. Sometimes, the children do not see the extent of the words, it gets a little annoying for them”.
Even if he has nothing to do with the case, he admits to having been touched in recent days. “I’m happy for the family, too, that he [soit] found. I’m like everyone else: 22 years later, it gives chills,” said the 40-year-old man.
He hopes that his situation will fade quickly. “I’m Marc-André Grenon, I’m 40, I live in Chicoutimi and I want peace, that’s all!” he concluded.
